Chevy Equinox or Traverse: which SUV is right for me?

Which Chevy SUV is right for you near Mount Pleasant: Trailblazer, Equinox, or Traverse?

Updated September 2026. Near Mount Pleasant, choose the compact Trailblazer for the lowest price and easy parking, the Equinox for a roomier daily driver, and the three-row Traverse for families needing seven or eight seats. Crivelli Chevrolet Buick stocks all three, rated 4.3 across 544 Google reviews. Call 724-547-2200.

The quick way to decide

The Equinox and Traverse solve two different problems. The Equinox is Chevrolet's compact SUV: five seats, an easier footprint to park and maneuver, and the efficiency most commuters and small families actually want. The Traverse is the midsize three-row: up to seven or eight seats, a third row for kids or occasional adults, and the cargo room a growing family runs out of in a compact. If you regularly carry more than four people or haul gear, that third row settles it. If you don't, the Equinox is the smarter daily driver.

Where each one wins

The Equinox wins on price of entry, day-to-day efficiency, and ease in tight lots and garages. The Traverse wins on people-and-cargo capacity, road-trip comfort for a full house, and towing headroom for a small trailer. Neither is 'better' in the abstract; the right one is the one that matches how many seats you fill on a normal week.
